Officer Daniel Martinez and K9 Diablo

We are the newest addition to the  Portage K9 unit hitting the streets in October 2015. 

Diablo is a 2yr. old Belgian Malanois from the Netherlands. He is a dual purpose narcotics/patrol dog and we received extensive training from Von Liche Kennels in Peru, IN. Diablo loves tennis balls and his favorite movie is "Talladega Nights". 

They both look forward to a long career as partners fighting crime.

Anthony Dandurand and K9 Nakir

Nakir started with the Portage Police Department in April of 2014.

He is a full blooded male German Sheppard who came to us from Poland. He is trained in the detection of drugs, building searches, tracking, and handler protection. He responds to German commands and his favorite toy is a tennis ball!!!

Falco

Officer Richard Krieg

K9 Falco is a 5 year old Shepherd/Malinois mix. He is a dual purpose narcotics and patrol K9. Falco enjoys working the midnight shift, but also loves meeting kids and doing demonstrations at events and schools. 

 

Odin

Officer Roger Peele and K9 Odin

Odin started with the Portage Police Department in August of 2019.  He is a full blooded male black Labrador from the Landhiem Training Center in Dyer, Indiana. 

Odin is Portage PD’s first single purpose K9 and is trained in detection of narcotics, area article search and tracking. Odin loves playing any games and is a pure people pleaser!  Officer Peele and Odin look forward to a long career serving the city of Portage and it’s citizens.
